Faro / 17€.
An excellent variety of fish in a traditional Algarve-style “rodizio,” perfect for fish lovers. It’s best to arrive around noon and bring cash, as they don’t take reservations or accept card payments.
They only serve the Fish Rodizio*, which varies depending on the season and the catch of the day (the fish seemed freshly caught that morning). You might be served Mackerel, Sardines, Cuttlefish, or whatever was caught.
The fixed price of €17 includes all the fish you can eat, along with toasted bread, olives, tomato salad, potatoes, and Xarém — a savory corn porridge typical of the Algarve. A drink (soft drink, beer, or house wine) and a coffee to finish are also included in the price. Desserts are not included, but I can’t comment on those as I was too full of fish to try any!
The atmosphere is simple and rustic, and the service is excellent. Despite the fast pace, the staff are friendly and attentive, always ready to make sure you’re enjoying the experience.
Located in a quiet area, away from the city center, access is easy, and there’s plenty of parking available.
